Longtime Big Lake Schools Supt. Lloyd Luukkonen passed away Nov. 29 at the age of 93 in Edina, where he and his wife, Elizabeth lived for the past several years. Luukkonen, a WWII veteran, was involved in several school districts in Minnesota before serving as superintendent in Big Lake for 28 years, retiring in the 1980’s. He and Elizabeth were very active in the community, to include Saron Lutheran Church. (See obituary inside this issue.
