The annual Spelling Bee is quickly approaching. Mon., Feb. 4, about 25-30 students will advance on to our Big Lake Middle School Spelling Bee. Ms. Alison Seth will act as District Pronouncer at the Spelling Bee to be held in the Student Center of the middle school at 6:30 p.m. that evening. The bee is open to students in grades 6-8. The District champion from BLMS will advance to the Regional Bee Feb. 21, 2013, at St. John’s University in Collegeville. Four Regional winners will advance to the Minnesota Multi-Regional State Spelling Bee Tues., Feb. 26, 2013, coordinated by Lakes Country Service Cooperative, and finally, the State winner advances to the Scripps National Bee in Washington, DC in May 2013.
