Lastavich to Hollywood

BIG LAKER BEAU LASTAVICH has made it through to the Hollywood round on televisons’ American Idol.

Big Laker Beau Lastavich, who sometimes sings for the congregation at Saron Lutheran Church, appeared on American Idol and won his gold ticket to the Hollywood round. Lastavich, who is a communications major with a music minor at St. Cloud State Univeristy (SCSU), traveled to Chicago with three other students in his car. They slept in the car and after a considerable wait, Lastavich was able to audition for the judges. “I was hoping to see my idol, Steven Tyler,” Lastavich said. “But he isn’t a judge this year.” Lastavich, who is a junior at SCSU, says regardless of the show’s outcome, he intends to finish his education. “I only have one year left,” he said. Besides singing in church, Lastavich, a Big Lake High School graduate, also plays in the band Dirtee Circus, which entertained at the Big Lake Chamber Block Party at McPete’s two years ago.
