Michele Renee (Buss) Jackson, age 43 of Big Lake, passed away at her home on April 12, 2014.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello, and also one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Thursday.  A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 11 AM, at Riverside

Lois Lucille Broker, age 86 of Big Lake, passed away on Friday April 11, 2014 at Park View Care Center of Buffalo.  Visitation will be Monday April 14, 2014 from 10 AM to 11 AM at Saron Lutheran Church, 311 Lake Street South, Big Lake.  The funeral service will follow at 11 AM.  Rev.

Big Lake Middle School student Eli Flicker won the Big Lake Middle School National Geographic Geography Bee and went on to compete at the state competition at St. Cloud State University, April 4, where he took fourth place.

Doug Stucki, St. Cloud, was named Volunteer of the Year for Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge by Manager Steve Karel at an awards dinner held at Jack & Jim’s Event Center in Duelm March 13.  Stucki has been a refuge volunteer since 1997, and in the last year donated 232 hours.

  • Office Hours: Mon - Thurs: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m./ Fri. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m
  • Due to current and forecasted weather conditions, all after-school activities for Big Lake Schools have been cancelled. 

     

    This includes Community Education classes and the academic awards banquet. The academic awards banquet has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m.

     

    Kids Club will continue to operate on its normal schedule.
