More than 100 families in the Clearwater and Clear Lake area had a Merry Christmas thanks to the generosity of people and businesses in their community and the help of lots of dedicated volunteers.

Vandals attacked and damaged the large monument in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery on Eagle Lake Road in Big Lake Saturday morning. Big Lake police were called to the scene around 11 a.m. when the damage was noticed.

The Becker-Big Lake Squirt B1 hockey team had a successful weekend tournament up in Roseau this past week, winning three games while losing one to take third place. The BBL Eagles beat a powerhouse Roseau White team 8–3 in the opening game and followed that up with their only loss, a close 6-0 defeat to Rosemount.

GREAT RIVER SPINE AND SPORT donated $370 in cash and just over 200 food items to the Big Lake Food Shelf this week. The donations were brought in by their clients.

Officials get 2% pay hike
